A lunch-time, wellness workout, based on the principles of Joseph Pilates – concentrating on strengthening core muscles and maintaining flexibility. Includes stretching, light weight work, ballet movements, and yoga. Moves and positions can be modified for individual needs. Beginners through advanced students of all ages, genders, and conditions are welcome.
Location: Grace Episcopal Church, 108 N. 5th, at Linden; enter doors at 5th & Linden. Metered street parking along 5th Street (look for unmetered street parking one block north, on Turner, east of 5th); parking garage at 6th & Linden; or walk from downtown offices and apartments. Cost: Suggested donation of $5 per class. Donations support programs of the Refugee Community Center, in partnership with Episcopal Church of the Mediator.
What you will need: Wear loose-fitting, stretchy clothing; bring a yoga mat, rubber ball (9-12” in diameter), hand weights (3-5 pounds) and, if you have one, a resistance band.
